Let me summarize how I understand the situation...:

You copied the intellectual property of a company _including_, but not limited to the _name_, illegally uploaded it on a platform that sells games legally, got _caught_ illegally distributing somebody else's work, to 'how knows how many people'... but instead of facing a lawsuit in the 4 to 6 digit range and suddenly having a 'criminal record'... 'you' got away with 'receiving a letter'.

I tip my hat to 'Max Games Studios'. That studio is incredibly chill.

this was already a big change it was gone heapon. But the original age of war is in a bit of a gray zone but fun to keep in my library sad it is gone of steam

Well, it's not unexpected. Yes, it's an old game, but still, it's their game. So if someone is going to 'steal' it and upload it on a site like Steam, it's understandable that they would want to remove it. It's their work, and it's a bit disrespectful to do that, at least without asking. They must have their reasons for why the game is not on many platforms.

@Yatsufusa I too LOVE intellectual property law and the companies that hold our culture hostage. I'm so happy that more people won't get to play Age of War now, that enjoyment of theirs would be irresponsible and wrong.

Reading your comment, I just genuinely couldn't believe there was someone out there CAPABLE of leaving that as the first reply on Newgrounds.com of all places, but by the wonders of human achievement, we've been able to go to new lengths to overcome natural selection and keep even the most dopey members of our society alive. Hats off to your doctors.

Congratulations on being so blinded by immature rage that you couldn't read what I actually said, @slayerN:
There could have been way harsher consequences for awesomea900, but 'Max Games Studios' (or their representatives) decided to only do the _barest_minimum_ about somebody doing stupid kid stuff. And that's what this was: "Stupid kid stuff".

awesomea900 (allegedly) is a 27 year old _adult_ who did something stupid, got caught, and then decided to whine about it to the internet.

I have actually written a few posts about my stance on the use of copyright, by the way. If you have enough time to complain about news from a month ago, you might have the time to look them up. You might actually quite enjoy them - regardless of the author.

But the 'opinion' you (and me, actually) have about the way copyright is applied does 'not change' the _legal_reality_ we live in. We all have to work with the 'situation at hand' and cannot act as if nothing bad could happen to us. And if one was aspiring to create something and shared it with the world, one would have to take this reality into account before investing time into a project.
